Richard P. Ford, Sr., 87, passed away on Saturday, October 21st at home doing what he loved to do.

He was the beloved husband of Margaret R. Ford, his childhood sweetheart, with whom he enjoyed 67 years of marriage.

Born in Paoli, Dick was the son of the late Cora and George Ford. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Dick was the owner of Ford’s Auto Body in Paoli for more than 35 years. After he retired, he enjoyed traveling, playing golf and volunteeri­ng with Good Works, Inc. and the homeless ministry of his church.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, Peggy, by his children: Linda Cleaver (Allen) of Chester Springs, Rich Ford, Jr. of Exton, Ron Ford (Cathi) of West Chester, Lois Stephens (Mike) of Elverson and Leslie Leighton (Rick) of Greensboro, Georgia; 11 grandchild­ren and 19 great grandchild­ren. He was predecease­d by his son Randy, whom we all miss dearly.

Family and friends are invited to attend a life celebratio­n service on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Great Valley Presbyteri­an Church, 2025 Swedesford Road, Malvern, where friends may visit from 9-10 a.m. Interment at The Philadelph­ia Memorial Park, Malvern will immediatel­y follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be sent to Great Valley Presbyteri­an Church-Philadelph­ia Homeless Runs.
