A spooky way for kids to learn
Rainbow Elementary School hosts Haunted Hallways literacy event
VALLEY » Usually school hallways are full of educational notes and have a welcoming feel, but around Halloween the hallways at Rainbow Elementary School are spooky because of the Haunted Hallways event.
The hallways of Rainbow Elementary School in Valley Township were filled with spooky surprises during the school’s annual family friendly Haunted Hallways event. PTO members, parents, former students, staff and custodians worked together to host the annual literacy event and decorate the school.
“The time and effort dedicated to the decoration of the cars was apparent, and everyone appreciated both the creativity and the spookiness on display,” Rainbow school officials said. “The Haunted Hallways kept everyone on their toes with just the right mix of creepiness and elements of surprise.”
This free and fun-filled family event included the Haunted Hallway tour, which Coatesville Area School District officials described as a slightly spooky event that more than 1,000 adults and children attended. It also features a Scholastic Book Fair, a storyteller, games and activities, snacks, and the newly added Trunk or Treat. More than 25 cars participated in Trunk or Treat and candy was handed out to hundreds of children.
