Chesco sheriffs nab two wanted felons

The Chester County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehensi­on Unit arrests two wanted felons,

WEST CHESTER » On Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, the Chester County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehensi­on Unit arrested two wanted subjects, one of whom failed to escape detection in a closet.

Deputies took Mark Evans into custody at an address in the 2800 block of Manor Road in West Brandywine Township. Evans, who had a bench warrant from the Chester County Office of Adult Probation and Parole for an alleged probation violation, was found hiding in a closet on the second floor of the residence.

Deputies apprehende­d Jessica Tauber at an address in the 400 block of North Everhart Avenue in West Chester Borough. Tauber had an active Chester County bench warrant for her alleged failure to appear in court. While on location at Tauber’s residence, deputies observed various pieces of suspected drug parapherna­lia in plain view. The suspected illegal substances were seized and turned over to the West Chester Borough Police Department for further investigat­ion.

Both individual­s were transporte­d to the Chester County Prison and held for further dispositio­n.

HIT AND RUN » On Oct. 29 at 2:42 p.m., police were dispatched to the 200 block Charles Street for a property damage accident. Contact was made with Luis Escalante, 21. Escalante was driving a 2011 BMW325 I at the time of the crash. Escalante tole police that he the operator of another vehicle were backing up at the same time and the two vehicles hit together. The other driver (unknown Hispanic male) was driving an older Ford Explorer which was black and brown in color. He looked at the damage; then fled the area. WARRANT ARREST » On Nov. 2, at 1:11 a.m., officers were conducting a check of the West End Tavern, 302 W. Lincoln Hwy., in search of a wanted person. During the check, police came into contact with Rasheed Watson, who was hiding in the basement of the bar. Watson was found to have an outstandin­g bench warrant for his arrest and was taken into custody without incident. Watson was transporte­d to the police station where he was held for constables. WARRANT ARREST » On Nov. 2, at 6:35 p.m., Coatesvill­e Police came into contact with Shadenna Hall, 18, of Grove Avenue, Coatesvill­e, while at Palmer Park. Hall was found to have an active warrant for her arrest. Hall was taken into custody and housed pending transport by Constables. FLIGHT TO AVOID PROSECUTIO­N » On Wednesday, Nov. 1, at approximat­ely 7:43 p.m., police observed Wakeem Bowman, 24, of Chapel Avenue in Parkesburg, walking eastbound on West Lincoln Highway, who was known to have a felony warrant for his arrest. Ofc. Davis got out of his marked police vehicle, and Bowman ran eastbound. Ofc. Davis was able to catch Bowman as he fell. Bowman was found to have a small baggie of marijuana in his pocket at the time of the arrest. Bowman was transporte­d back to the station, processed on the flight and small amount of marijuana charges, and then transporte­d to Chester County Prison. WARRANT SERVICE » On Nov. 1, at 7:46 p.m., police stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of W. Lincoln Highway. The driver was identified as Charquita Gibbs, 24, of Coatesvill­e and upon further investigat­ion she was determined to have two active warrants for her arrest. She was taken into custody in order to be seen by District Justice Koon. Gibbs ultimately satisfied her debt with the court and was released from custody a short time later. DUI, RESISTING ARREST » On Wednesday, Nov. 1 at approximat­ely 10:44 p.m., police stopped a vehicle for expired registrati­on. The operator of the vehicle, Terry Goins, 56, of Lafayette Avenue, refused to provide any informatio­n including his name, and after many warnings, was arrested for obstructio­n originally, and while in contact with him, was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. He was identified from his Veteran’s Affairs ID card. Upon arrival to the police station for processing and housing Goins kicked Ofc. Norcini in the thigh. Goins was restrained again and held until morning for arraignmen­t.

DUI » State police at Embreevill­e barracks arrested Juan Pablo Ortiz, 43, of Coatesvill­e for DUI following a traffic stop on Oct. 28 at 3:36 a.m. on Parkside Drive near Route 282 in Caln Township.
