Eleanor O. Leise, M.D., of Chester Springs
Eleanor O. Leise, M.D., age 83, wife of Carol P. Webber, of Chester Springs, PA, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017 in the Phoenixville Hospital. Born on December 14, 1933 in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of the late Kurt and Frida (Keller) Leise.
Dr. Leise was a graduate of Olney High School, and received her B.S. from the University of Michigan in 1955. She received her Doctorate from the Women’s Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1964. Dr. Leise practiced Obstetrics & Gynecology in both the Paoli and Lankenau Hospitals, where she belonged to multiple medical societies.
She enjoyed classical music, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and attending theater productions. She loved animals, especially her dogs, and enjoyed horseback riding.
In addition to her wife, Dr. Leise is survived by two nieces, Sheri Leise and Brynn, wife of Glen Mays, five great-nieces and nephews, and many friends. She was preceded in death by one brother, John Leise, husband of Carol J. Leise.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral ceremony at the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 1239 Clover Mill Road, Chester Springs, PA on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 12:00 pm. Officiating will be Rev. Ronald P. Wesemann. Burial will be held in the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Chester Springs, Pennsylvania. Friends will be received from 10:00 am - 11:45 am Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Main Line Animal Rescue, 1149 Pike Springs Road, Phoenixville, PA 19460.
