Police charge man with DUI following crash

WEST WHITELAND » Police charged a driver with allegedly driving under the influence following an investigat­ion of a two-vehicle crash.

West Whiteland police said Samuel Yearsley, 23, of Coatesvill­e, was charged with DUI and related traffic offenses after an investigat­ion into a two-vehicle crash in the 500 block of East Lincoln Highway on Oct. 3. Police said Yearsley, a driver in one of the vehicles, was transporte­d from the scene to Paoli Hospital and lab tests later revealed that Yearsley was allegedly impaired at the time of the crash. He was charged by criminal summons.

Fraud

West Whiteland police said an arrest warrant was issued for Ian Wiggins, 24, of Modena, after he was charged with access device fraud, forgery, bad checks, theft by deception and receiving stolen property. The charges were filed after an investigat­ion into four checks that were passed at the Beneficial Bank located in the 200 block of Main Street starting on Nov. 6. Police said it was determined that the account holder had not written the checks which were allegedly passed by Wiggins. Investigat­ors are attempting to locate Wiggins so they can serve the arrest warrant. Police ask that anyone with informatio­n on Wiggins’ whereabout­s to call 9-1-1. Retail theft

West Whiteland police said Charisse Thompson, 27, of Coatesvill­e, was charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property on Nov. 13 after an alleged $248 theft from the Wal-Mart store in the 200 block of Indian Run Street. Thompson was released on a criminal summons. At that time, police said they also made contact with Michael Collas, 41, of Downingtow­n, who was with Thompson during the incident. They were both transporte­d to Chester County Prison by constables after it was discovered that they each had an active bench warrant, according to police.

West Whiteland police said Latoya Kratz, 31, of Exton, was charges with retail theft and receiving stolen property on Nov. 16 after officers responded to the Kohl’s store in the 200 block of West Lincoln Highway for an alleged $161 theft. Kratz was released on a criminal summons.

Warrants

Coatesvill­e police conducted a check at Midway Bar at 704 East Lincoln Highway at 8 p.m. on Nov. 24. Police said that Jeffrey Martin, 54, of Coatesvill­e, was in the bar at the time when he was found to have an active bench warrant for domestics. Police took him into custody and transporte­d him to the police station and held for constables.
