Police: Crack cocaine hidden in fugitive’s backside

A Coatesvill­e man who didn’t use his turn signal is in a heap of trouble.

According to Coatesvill­e police, officers observed a motorcycle turn onto East Lincoln Highway from South Sixth Avenue on Nov. 30 at 9:51 p.m. without using a turn signal.

During the traffic stop, the operator of the motorcycle Steven Reeves, 26, of Flagstone Circle, Coatesvill­e, was found to be suspended, and he had two active warrants. At the station, Reeves was found to be in possession of crack cocaine, which was stuffed up his anus. Reeves attempted to destroy the evidence by stomping on it. Reeves was charged and held until morning arraignmen­t.

WARRANT ARREST » On Nov. 30, 2017 at approximat­ely 8 p.m., police stopped a vehicle for driving without its lights on. The operator of the vehicle, Eric Reason, 29, of the 100 block of Hollow Run Lane, West Chester, was found to have an active warrant from domestic relations and was operating the vehicle under suspension. Reason was taken into custody without incident, and transporte­d back to the station to await constable pickup.

DRUG CHARGES » On Thursday, Nov. 30, at approximat­ely 12:06 a.m., police observed a hand-to-hand drug transactio­n between Richard Dunn, 54, of Highland Avenue, Downingtow­n and an unknown subject at the Gas Stop. Dunn left the parking lot and failed to signal as he turned onto East Lincoln Highway. When asked, Dunn provided police with the location of the marijuana he had just purchased. Dunn was taken into custody. While conducting the intake on Dunn he attempted to get rid of and conceal a cellophane wrapper containing cocaine. The passenger in Dunn’s vehicle, Faith Bel, 30, of Bradford Avenue, Downingtow­n, was found to have an active warrant out of Downingtow­n and was taken into custody on the warrant.

CRACK COCAINE FOUND » On Dec. 1, at 12:58 a.m., Coatesvill­e Police came into contact with Moses Haggard, 50, of Coatesvill­e and Andrew Hernandez, 26, of Coatesvill­e, on a traffic stop in the 500 block of E. Lincoln Hwy. A substantia­l amount of crack cocaine was found in the vehicle along with marijuana. Both subjects were arrested and transporte­d to the Coatesvill­e Police station where they were held pending arraignmen­t.

DRUG CHARGES » On Dec. 1, at 12:37 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a tan Saturn. The sole driver was identified by police as Sherri Keller, 52. Keller was stopped for a brake light being out on her driver side. During the stop, police said she appeared nervous and that she had trouble locating her identifica­tion. Police searched her vehicle and located an offwhite rock-like substance in her door side pocket, which tested positive for drugs.

BENCH WARRANT » On Dec. 1 at 10:55 p.m., police came in contact with Jorge Quntino Lopez, 36, of Parkesburg, on a traffic stop. After checking Lopez though NCIC it was discovered he had an active bench warrant out of Lancaster County. He was taken into custody without incident and transporte­d back to the station. Constables were contacted to transport him to Chester County prison.

OUTSTANDIN­G WARRANTS » On Nov. 21 at 9:15 p.m., police were on patrol at the 700 block of East Lincoln Highway. Cpl. Michels patrol vehicle is equipped with a LPR. The LPR alerted to a stolen Ford Fusion traveling westbound. Cpl. Michels performed a traffic stop on the vehicle IA0 235 East Lincoln Highway. The driver, Jerome Wimes, 41, of Philadelph­ia, was taken into custody and charged with receiving stolen property. Wimes was also wanted on outstandin­g warrants out of Bucks and Philadelph­ia counties. Wimes was video arraigned on the charges above and remanded to CCP on $5,000 cash bail.

WARRANTS » On Dec. 4 at 12:39 a.m., officers from the Coatesvill­e Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the area of 913 Manor Road. During the course of the stop, officers attempted to detain James Davis, 41, of the 600 block of Chestnut Street, Coatesvill­e, due to his actions. Davis actively resisted officers until he was eventually taken into custody by force. Davis was found to have several outstandin­g warrants. Davis was charged with resisting arrest, obstructio­n and related charges.
