Mary G. Moffet of Hershey’s Mill

Mary G. Moffet, 87, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at her residence in Hershey’s Mill.

She was the beloved wife of William “Bill” E. Moffet with whom she shared 32 years of marriage and the late Robert B. Norris.

Born in Chester, Mary was the daughter of the late Walter Graden and Margaret (nee Seaver) Graden.

Mary was known as “The Voice of Chester County” with weekly broadcasts on WCOJ from the Exton Lodge in 1948-50.

She worked for the Downingtow­n Area School District for 23 years. She was a secretary at the Senior High, Junior High and the District Administra­tion Office.

In her retirement years, Mary enjoyed traveling with Bill across the United States in their motorhome as well as in Europe, searching for family genealogy.

She loved caring for her family and was most at home playing in her gardens.

In addition to her husband Bill, she is survived by her children, James Moffet (Audrey Johnson), Ann Miller, Michael Norris (Catherine), Jeffrey Norris (Barbara), Steven Norris (Lisa) and Terry Norris Butz (Rob). Also survived by her siblings Walter Graden, Jr. and Lois Hochstedle­r . She is GrandMary to 10 Grandchild­ren: William Moffet, Lily Moffet, Janessa Butz Brown (David), Tyler Norris (Stephanie), Kyle Norris (Shawna), Ryan Norris (Anji), Joshua Butz (Jaclyn), Laura Norris, Kate Norris Howard (Max), Bennet Norris, She is also Great GrandMary to 11 great grandchild­ren.

She was predecease­d by her grandson, Greg Norris, and siblings, Harry Graden, Jessie Dyess, Helen Graden, Louise Graden, Jean McMullen, Ethel Whitelock, Emma Dillon, and Ann Derrico.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, December 7th at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtow­n, where family and friends may visit from 9:15 to 10:45 am. Interment will be in Oaklands Cemetery, West Chester.
