Nancy McAbee Quinn, formerly of Kennett Square, PA

Nancy McAbee Quinn, 87, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2017 at Lake Pointe Woods in Sarasota, Florida.

Born on November 6, 1930 in Wilmington, Delaware, Nancy was the daughter of James L. McAbee and Jane McAbee (Osterloh). She graduated from Shattuck-St. Mary’s School in Faribault, Minnesota, where she made several lifelong friends. Nancy attended the University of Missouri and later Goldey-Beacom College in Wilmington. She married James M. Quinn, Jr. on May 25, 1972 in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. After moving to Sarasota in the mid-1980s, Nancy was the bookkeeper at the Sunrise Cove condominiums on Siesta Key and later at the Seaplace condominiums on Longboat Key, which were managed by her husband Jim. She and Jim enjoyed travelling, including to Hawaii, Ireland, Argentina, and several Caribbean islands. Nancy was an avid fan of professional golf and enjoyed shelling on the beaches of Sarasota.

Nancy had a large and loving family. She was predeceased by her husband in March 2005; her father and mother; her step-father, Robert Osterloh; and in February 2017 her oldest son, Charles H. Moore, III. She is survived by her sons James (Richard) Moore of Rockport, MA and David Moore of Lake Tahoe, NV; her daughter Susan Moore of Billings, MT; her daughter-in-law Rita Horgan Moore of Coronado, CA; her stepdaughters Colleen Quinn of Wilmington, DE; Sherrill Quinn of Buffalo, NY; and Christine (Greg) Quinn of Hammonton, NJ; her brother James L. (Ann) McAbee, Jr. of New Holland, PA; and her four grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and all whose lives she touched.

Funeral services will be held in Wilmington in late April.
