Armando Panaccio

Armando Panaccio passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the age of 95 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Guardiagre­le, Italy to Angelosant­e and Maria ( DiCamillo) Panaccio on May 23, 1922. Armando is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Serafina Cieri Panaccio.

After the outbreak of World War II, Armando came to America to pledge his allegiance and served in the U. S Army. Following the war, he returned to Italy where he met Serafina. In 1954, Armando returned to America, his wife and two daughters joining him two years later. The family settled in Malvern where they have been residents and parishione­rs of St. Patrick’s Church for over 60 years. Armando was employed as a machine operator at Sonoco PaperCo. and at A. I. W. Frank.

Armando always put family first. He was also an avid outdoorsma­n who loved fishing, hunting and raising hunting beagles. Armando also enjoyed working on his cars, spending time in his vegetable garden, making his own wine and vacationin­g in Ocean City, Maryland with his family. Armando is survived by his cherished wife Serafina, his daughter Silvana Panaccio Hart and her husband Walter, Son- in Law Paul Nickels, five grandchild­ren, Walter Hart III ( Kristin), Jeffrey Hart, Michael Nickels ( Mary Ellen), Kristen Nickels DiGilio ( Justin), Amanda Nickels Pyne ( Mark), and four greatgrand­children, Henry Nickels, Juliet Nickels, Matthew DiGilio and Nicholas DiGilio.

Armando is predecease­d by his daughter, Fiorella Panaccio Nickels.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at St. Patrick’s Church, 104 Channing Avenue, Malvern, PA, with visitation from 10 to 11 AM. Interment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester, PA.
