Oxford staves off Great Valley

Oxford took maximum points in all but three of the bouts it won to take the Ches-Mont League American Division wrestling opener, 43-33, over Great Valley on Wednesday.

Kevin Quinn, Daniel Cox, Ronnie Fulton and William Johnson all won by pinfall.

Cooper Johnson and Landon Meredith took their bouts by technical fall.

WEST CHESTER EAST 106, AVON GROVE 73 » AJ Avagliano, and JP Perucki were double-event winners for the Vikings in the ChesMont National opener. Avagliano won the 200 free and the 100 fly. Perucki took the 100 breast and the 200 IM. Aaron Tupper won a pair of events for the Red Devils.

DOWNINGTOW­N EAST 95, WEST CHESTER RUSTIN 91 » Vincent Ye, Dylan Lisnow and Ben Doyle won three events each as the Cougars edged the Golden Knights in the nonleague contest. All three were part of the winning 200 free relay team, while Ye took the 200 free and 100 fly, Doyle took the 50 free and the 100 breast. Lisnow captured the 100 free and was part of the 200 medley relay.
