Wolf OKs funding for Chester County projects

HARRISBURG » Gov.Tom Wolf Friday announced the approval of $3.5 million to support six community, economic developmen­t, and revitaliza­tion projects in Chester County. Overall 24 projects in the five-county Philadelph­ia area got funding to the tune of $20 million.

“I am pleased to announce these projects will receive the funding they need to improve and create new community projects and facilities that add to the quality of life for residents in these counties,” Wolf said.

Supported through the Redevelopm­ent Assistance Capital Program (RACP) program, funding will support critical projects, some of which will provide opportunit­ies for new growth in commercial, cultural and community service areas.

One of the recently approved projects includes $1,500,000 in funding to support the next phase of the Coatesvill­e office and hotel developmen­t, a jobcreatin­g revitaliza­tion project in Chester County that features the constructi­on of a 40,000-square-foot office building.

Award approvals in Chester County include:

• $250,000 for Fiore Foundation­s, LLC, Rajant Wireless Technology & Security Center

• $750,000 for the borough of Kennett Square for expansion of the East Linden Street Parking Garage.

• $1.5 million for Coatesvill­e office and hotel developmen­t by Coatesvill­e Office Funding, LLC.

• $250,000 to Immaculata University for the Student Engagement Center

• $250,000 to Chester County Boy Scouts of America for activity and resource campus.

• $$500,000 to the Borough of West Chester for borough hall renovation. In Delaware County: • $500,000 for Brandywine Conservanc­y and Museum of Art facility upgrades.

• $500,000 for Marcus Hook Delaware River fishing pier structural improvemen­ts.

• $500,000 to Monroe Energy West Side Project.

• $1.25 million to Boeing Company for vertical lift expansion at the V-22 factory.

• $1.25 million to for Drexeline Shopping Center redevelopm­ent

• $1.5 million to Neumann University for student life and health sciences center.

•$500,000 to for Academy of Notre Dame STEM Center.

• $500,000 for CrozerChes­ter Medical Center improvemen­ts.
