YMCA is free for the rest of the year

Chester County residents can use their local YMCA branch’s facilities for free from Tuesday to Sunday.

WEST CHESTER » The holiday shopping might not be done, but the YMCA of Greater Brandywine already has the best present of the season.

The Y is welcoming the whole community by offering the Gift of Health this December. Anybody in Chester County 18 years or older with a valid ID can use their local YMCA branch’s facilities for free from Tuesday to Sunday. Children under the age of 18 are welcome to visit with a parent or guardian. There’s no need to wait until New Year’s Day to start working on those fitness goals when you can get a jump start with access to the Y’s facilities. Anyone who signs up for a 12-month membership during the week will have the $99 join fee waived.

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine offers a unique atmosphere that combines the best of a healthy lifestyle with a vibrant, upbeat social community. No matter people’s go-to workout, there’s something to do at the Y, ranging from swimming in the indoor pools to personal training to group exercise classes and everything in between.

It’s that wide range of activities that make the Y the place to be. The best part? With branches in Coatesvill­e, Jennersvil­le, Kennett, Lionville, Berwyn, Octorara and West Chester, there’s a branch that’s always accessible for all Chester County residents.

To ensure that everyone has access to quality programmin­g, financial assistance and subsidized programmin­g is available. In 2016 alone, more than $3.8 million in financial assistance was provided to support 13,424 families with access to childcare, summer camp, programs and membership­s.
