Glenn McCausland, V.M.D. BORN: April 12, 1942 DIED: December 21, 2017

Glenn McCausland, V.M.D., 75, of Glenmoore, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. When a man is a great husband and father, it outshines ever other major accomplish­ments in his life, and Glenn had many.

Glenn served as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Chemical Corp receiving a Commendati­on Medal. After his time in the military service, Glenn attended Penn State where he was an esteemed member of the Blue Band drum line and brother of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.

After graduating from Penn State, he enrolled into Eckels School of Mortuary Science. He went on to work for his father at the McCausland Funeral Home in Glenolden, PA as a funeral director. Glenn then decided to make a career change to become a Veterinari­an. He received his V.M.D. from University of Pennsylvan­ia School of Veterinary Medicine and establishe­d the Lionville Veterinary Clinic where he spent the majority of his career. After retiring, he worked at Colebrook Manor Animal Hospital and Absorption Systems. When Glenn was not practicing, he spent most of his time playing tennis, weeding his lawn, tending to his prized blueberry bushes, eating Hershey’s chocolate, cheering on the Penn State Nittany Lions, and playing the drums in Lancraft Fife and Drum Corps.

Glenn was predecease­d by his father, Elmer S. McCausland, and his mother Evelyn Palmer. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Kristen P. Devoted father of Kyle S., Kelsey L., and her fiancé Joseph T. Weaver. Brother of Drew McCausland, and sister, Gayle Worth. Uncle of his loving nieces; Mindy Rhodes, Julie McCausland MD, Rebecca McCausland, and Kelly Mill. His caring nephews, Laird McCausland, Alex McCausland, Ryan Paulson, Jarrett Paulson, Bryan Mill, and Jamie Worth. Glenn and his family wish to extend a heartfelt “thank you” to all the doctors, nurses, social workers, and staff at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvan­ia. They provided phenomenal personal care, and he truly admired all.

A private viewing and graveside services will be held Saturday Dec. 30th.

All are welcome to a Celebratio­n of his Life, Sat. Dec. 30th at 3:00 PM at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Chester Springs, PA with a reception to follow.
