Kenneth E. Beans Sr. of Newark, Del.

Kenneth E. Beans, Sr., 85 of Newark, DE passed away December 23, 2017 at home in Newark, DE, surrounded by his family, after a brief illness.

He was the loving husband of Beatrice Young Beans, with whom he shared 66 years of marriage.

Born September 14, 1932 in Phoenixville, PA, he was the son of the late Elmer P. Beans and the late Anna M. Kramer Beans.

He attended West Chester High School.

Kenneth formerly lived in West Chester until 2002, then moved to Florida before moving to Newark, DE.

Prior to retirement, Kenneth was a machinist for 39 years at Bishop Tube Co., in Frazer, PA.

He enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with his family, and vacationing in the Pocono Mountains. Ken was proud to serve his community as a volunteer firefighter, and was a lifetime member with 25 years of service with the West Whiteland Fire Co. in Exton, PA.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Kenneth M. Beans (Teresa) of Hockessin, DE, Randall A. Beans (Mary) of Redmond, WA, Jeffrey S. Beans (Linda) of Spring City, PA, and Patricia A. Beans of Downingtown, PA; siblings, Larry B. Beans of Mentor, OH, and Bruce P. Beans of Norfolk, MA; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his infant son, Kenneth E. Beans, Jr.

Relatives and Friends are invited to his visitations on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm and on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 9-10am at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc., 410 North Church Street, West Chester, PA 19380, 610-696-1181, www.DellaFH.com; followed by his Funeral Service at 10:00 am.

Interment will be held in Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer, PA.
