Mt. Pleasant Mills man charged with DUI
A Mt. Pleasant Mills man was charged with DUI following a two-vehicle accident on the Route 30 Bypass.
WEST WHITELAND » Police responded to a two-vehicle accident on the Route 30 Bypass and found two occupants asleep in one of the vehicles.
West Whiteland police said Samuel Chubb, 29, and Michael Chubb, 27, both of Mt. Pleasant Mills, were arrested on Dec. 20 after officers responded to a two-vehicle crash on the Route 30 Bypass. An officer approached one of the vehicles involved in the crash and observed both occupants sleeping in the vehicle. Police said Samuel Chubb was arrested after reportedly failing field sobriety tests and Michael Chubb was arrested after an officer recovered a controlled substance from his person. They both were released on a criminal summons. Samuel Chubb was charged with DUI while Michael Chubb was charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, according to police.

DUI
Police said Marianne Tomaselli, 28, of Norristown, was arrested on Dec. 20 after a patrol officer responded to a report of an erratic driver in the 500 block of East Lincoln Highway. The officer located the vehicle, initiated a traffic stop and made contact with Tomaselli, identified as the driver. She was arrested after reportedly failing field sobriety tests. She was charged with DUI and possession of drug paraphernalia and released on a criminal summons, according to police.
Police said Daniel Janofsky, 36, of Pottstown, was charged with DUI on Dec. 26 after a patrol officer investigated a report on an erratic driver on North Pottstown Pike. The patrol officer initiated a traffic stop and made contact with Janofsky, identified as the driver. Janofsky was arrested after reportedly failing field sobriety tests. He was released on a criminal summons.
Retail theft
Police said Dollie Hayes, 52, of Philadelphia, was charged with retail theft on Dec. 19 after officers responded to the Boscov’s store for an alleged $40 theft. While in custody, it was discovered that Hayes was allegedly responsible for another $96 theft from the store the prior day, according to police. Hayes was issued two non-traffic citations and released.
Police said Jesse Long, 26, and Brittany Allison, 22, both of West Chester, were charged with retail theft, receiving stolen property, criminal conspiracy and possession of an instrument of crime on Dec. 21 after officers responded to the Target store for an alleged $528 theft. They both were released on a criminal summons.
Police said Stefanie Heffner, 25, of Media, and Gabrielle Sharkey, 25, of Croydon, were each charged with retail theft on Dec. 22 after officers responded to the Wal-Mart store for an alleged theft. Heffner was alleged to have stolen $45 worth of merchandise while Sharkey was alleged to have stolen $86 worth of merchandise, according to police. They both were issued a non-traffic citation and released.
Police said Gary Merto, 39, of Drexel Hill, was charged with retail theft, receiving stolen property and possession of an instrument of crime on Dec. 23 after officers responded to the Wal-Mart store for an alleged $396 theft. Merton was released on a criminal summons.
Police said Justin White, 27, of Coatesville, was charged with retail theft, receiving stolen property and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia on Dec. 24 after officers responded to the Kohl’s store for an alleged $90 theft. During the arrest, officers said they recovered alleged contraband from White’s person. He was remanded to Chester County Prison on an outstanding bench warrant. The charges were later filed against him for this offense.
Police said Charmise Wilson, 35, of Coatesville, was charged with theft by deception and receiving stolen property on Dec. 27 after officers responded to the Target store for an alleged employee theft. Store personnel alleged that Wilson stole merchandise from the store on three different occasions with a total value of $1,027. Wilson was released on a criminal summons.
Megan’s Law
Police said Jonathan Allen, 31, of Wilmington, Delaware, was charged with failure to comply with registration requirements as a sexual offender. The charges were filed after a Dec. 22 investigation into whether Allen was still working at a business in the township as he had previously reported. A warrant was obtained after it was determined that he was no longer employed at the business and failed to comply with the Megan’s Law requirements. Investigators are attempting to serve the arrest warrant. Police ask that anyone with information on Allen’s whereabouts to call 9-1-1.
