Walter J. ‘Buddy’ Pacana of Coatesville

Walter J. “Buddy” Pacana, 79, of Coatesville suddenly went to heaven Sunday, December 31, 2017 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.

He was the husband of Maryann C. Pashesnik Pacana with whom he shared 51 years of marriage at the time of her death in 2013.

Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Alexander L. and Helen Kopanski Pacana.

Buddy was employed with the former Lukens Steel Company.

He enjoyed fishing, cooking, and all Philadelphia sports teams; the Eagles, Phillies and Flyers. As a youngster, he caddied at the Coatesville Country Club fostering a love of golf. He coached Little League Baseball many years ago. He enjoyed hosting family and relatives at Christmas.

Surviving him are two sons, Michael J. and John B.; a daughter, Michele L. Olesky (Michael); a sister, Judy A. Smith; a brother, Michael F.; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces. He was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Irwin.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Harris Mountain Funeral & Cremation Service, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville, where family and friends may call beginning at 10 a.m.

Interment will be in Holy Ghost Orthodox Cemetery, Coatesville.
