Bills’ McCoy questionable for Sunday’s game
ORCHARDPARK, N. Y. » Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy is questionable for Sunday’s AFC wild- card playoff game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
McCoy suffered a right ankle injury in Sunday’s 22- 16 win over the Dolphins. Hewas cartedoffthefield butreturnedtopracticeonalimited basis Friday. On Thursday, McCoy said hewas feeling “a lot better” but didn’twant tomakeany guarantees about playing. He declined to speak with reporters on Friday.
McCoy is Buffalo’s best andmost consistent offensive playmaker with 1,138 rushing yards and six touchdowns in the regular season. He passed the 10,000- yard rushing mark for his career this year.
Giants interview Patriots defensive coordinator
The New York Giants have interviewed New England defensive coordinator Matt Patricia for their vacant head coaching job.
Patricia met with new general manager Dave Gettleman, Giants co- owner JohnMara and assistant generalmanager Kevin Abrams on Friday in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The trio was also expected to talk with New England offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels later in the day.
The Patriots have a first- round bye so their coaching staffcanbe interviewed this week.
Patricia is the second person the Giants have interviewed. Interim coach Steve Spagnuolo, who replaced Ben McAdoo, kicked off the interviews.
Bears interview Shurmur
LAKEFOREST, ILL. » Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur is interviewing for the Chicago Bears’ coaching job.
Shurmur could be a strong candidate considering the Vikings have an effective offense despite early losses of quarterback SamBradford and running back Dalvin Cook on the way to the NFC North championship.
The Bears are looking to get the most out of QB Mitchell Trubisky. Shurmur helped journeyman Case Keenumemerge after Bradford went down.
