Police have arrested a man after he allegedly brandished a firearm at another man during a confrontation Wednesday.

Lawrence J. Raimondi, 56, of Royersford, has been charged after police say they were called to the intersection of North Penn Street and Bridge Street at around 3:50 p.m. for a report of a road rage incident.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, responding officers from Spring City were met at the scene by officer Sean Franchini from Upper Providence Township who witnessed two men fighting at the location. Franchini had been in uniform but off-duty when the altercation occurred. Franchini informed Spring City officers that he had observed the two men yelling and bumping against each other chest to chest when he became involved in the situation. The victim told him that the other man, later identified as Raimondi, had a firearm.

Franchini calmed both men down and found

that the argument was over money.

Spring City Police spoke with the victim upon arrival. The victim told police that Raimondi had pulled over his car while the victim was waiting for his children at the bus stop. Raimondi then allegedly jumped out and began to argue with the victim before brandishing and racking his firearm. Franchini said he did not see the gun but that Raimondi admitted to having a gun on his person, police said.

Police took custody of a Smith and Wesson Bodyguard .380 caliber semi-automatic pistol from Raimondi as well as a black frame 3-inch knife with tanto and serrated blade.

Raimondi was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment. He was arraigned before District Judge Lori Novak Donatelli. Bail was set at $25,000 unsecured.
