Cohn’s OT goal boosts Downingtow­n East

Justin Cohn scored with a little over a minute left in overtime to lift Downingtow­n East a 4-3 victory over West Chester Rustin in a Ches-Mont ice hockey victory Thursday.

Alex Fox and Max McAllister assisted on Cohn’s goal.

East took the early lead on goals from Jack Barton and Mark Stankiewic­z. Rus- tin took the lead after tallies from Benjamin Meisinger, Bryan Widdis and Ian Strasinski, before Fox tied it.

Matt Shandler made 34 saves for the Cougars.

COATESVILL­E 80, WEST CHESTER HENDERSON 41 » Dante Cruz led a balanced attack with 16 points as the Red Raiders (3-2, 8-4) cruised to the Ches-Mont National win. CJ Brown and Jahmir Brickus added 10 points each. Archer Rymizewski had 10 points and Joe Saulino seven for the Warriors. UNIONVILLE 61, OXFORD 48 » Bo Furey-Bastian recorded 16 points and Joe Zubillaga 12 to guide the Indians (3-1) to the Ches-Mont American triumph. Hunter Hall had 13 points and Brock Ruddy 11 for the Hornets.

Dom London tossed in 31 points as the Braves (3-1) nabbed the Ches-Mont Amer- ican win. Mitch Kosara had 16 points for the Blue Demons (0-5, 2-11).

BISHOP SHANAHAN 76, WEST

CHESTER EAST 42 » Kevin Dodds had 18 points as the Eagles (5-0, 8-1) rolled to the Ches-Mont National victory. David Angelo had 17 points on five 3-pointers and Joe O’Malley chipped in 15. Andrew Carr paced the Vikings with 13 points.

65, COATESVILL­E 42 » Erin Torrance and Erin Thompson combined for 14 of the Warriors’ (5-0) 22 secondquar­ter points as they went on to post the Ches-Mont National win. Torrance led the way with 23 points and eight rebounds. Thompson had 16 points and five steals, while Grace Ferguson had a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds. Neveyah Chester had 21 points and Sarah Huston 13 for the Red Raiders (2-3).

Jamie Herrin netted 14 points as the Hornets held on for the Ches-Mont American victory. Grace Schrof collected 14 points for the Indians (1-2, 5-5).

CHESTER EAST 38 » Kathryn Greenhut netted 14 points and Sammi McCarter had 12 as the Eagles (4-1, 8-4) collected the Ches-Mont National triumph. Marissa McDonald had a game-high 15 points for the Vikings.

WEST CHESTER RUSTIN 49,

GREAT VALLEY 39 » Maggie O’Hare scored 17 points as the Golden Knights moved to 3-0, 8-1 overall, and took over first place in the ChesMont American. O’Hare was 10-for-10 from the line, 7-of-7 in the second half. Sadie Buzan had 15 points as the Patriots suffered their first division loss of the season to fall to 4-1.

KENNETT 95, SUN VALLEY 90 » Emils Jurcik won four events and Matthew Hauptschei­n was a triple winner as the Blue Demons captured the Ches-Mont American contest. Jurcik was part of the 200 medley and 400 free relay teams as well as capturing the 100 free and the 100 back. Hauptschei­n was on the 400 free relay team and won the 100 and 200 freestyles. Ronan Gorman took the 100 breast and was on both of the winning relays, while Sean Perrone was first in diving.

MALVERN PREP 100, PENN

CHARTER 73 » Matt Magness and Dan Waterlin were both triple winners as the Friars (20, 4-1) rolled to the Inter-Ac win. They both were on the 200 medley and 400 free relays, while Magness won the 100 back and Waterlin the 100 fly. John Connors nabbed the 200 and 500 free. Single winners were Jack Cassidy in the 200 IM, Louie Franzone in the 50 free, Nick Harris in diving, Ryan Maher in the 100 free and Ryan Durkan in the 100 breast.

SUN VALLEY 94, KENNETT 86

» Josette Wynn won three events along with Sydney McCracken for the Blue Demons in the Ches-Mont American meet. Wynn won the 100 back and the 200 free, McCracken the 50 and the 100 free and both were on the 200 medley relay team.
