Charles Rosson Weaver “Chuck”, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Freedom Village in West Brandywine. He was the husband of Margaret Josephine Daily Weaver “Peg”, the love of his life. Chuck and Peg met in high school and were married for 63 years.

Born on June 13, 1931 in Wayne, PA he was the son of the late William Clayton Weaver and Dorothy Mildred Beale Weaver.

Chuck graduated from Radnor High School where he received varsity letters in football and basketball. He is a U.S. Army Veteran who served from 1953 until 1955 when he was honorably discharged at the rank of Sargent. Chuck was stationed in the South Pacific at Eniwetok Atoll Marshall Islands and received a National Defense Service Medal. Following his service in the Army, Chuck had a long career as a Food Broker in the greater Philadelph­ia area, working hard to support his family and provide his children with opportunit­ies for successful careers. After retiring from the food business, Chuck remained constantly active with home projects, yard work and helping Peg run Westtown Travel, which they owned until 2003.

A resident of East Goshen for 50 years, Chuck enjoyed long daily walks with Peg through East Goshen Park adjacent to their home. He and Peg were also avid travelers and visited numerous destinatio­ns throughout the U.S., Caribbean, Europe, and Australia. Chuck was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church in West Chester, PA.

Chuck is survived by his five children: Maureen (Rob), Chuck, Jr. (Kay), David (Jody), Eric (Anne) and Melissa (Ed). He was fondly known as “Grampy” to his eleven grandchild­ren: Jessica, Ally, Megan, Jared, Deanna, Eddie, Sydney, Mia, Trinity, Nick and Genny. He is also survived by his brother George Weaver and his sister Dorothy Richter. Chuck was predecease­d by his brothers Harry Weaver and Pat Weaver.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 29, 2018 at St. Joseph Church, 338 Manor Avenue, Downingtow­n, where family and friends will be received from 9:00-9:45 a.m.

Interment will be in Philadelph­ia Memorial Park, Frazer.

Arrangemen­ts are being handled by the James J. Terry Funeral Home, Downingtow­n.
