Philadelph­ia man arrested in drug sting in West Goshen

A Philadelph­ia man was arrested following an undercover drug sting by West Goshen detectives and the Chester County Drug Task Force on Feb. 6.

Tony Timothy Trice Jr., 31, of 134 West Apsley Street, was arrested after authoritie­s made eight separate controlled deliveries of a large amount of Oxycodone pills and powder cocaine to a confidenti­al police informant.

Between Sept. 27, 2017 and Feb. 6, 2018, the confidenti­al informant was contacted by Tony Timothy Trice, Jr. by mobile telephone through voice and text communicat­ions. said Darryl Sdelak, a detective with West Goshen Police. Trice, Jr. used a mobile telephone on each communicat­ion event.

On the fourth occasion, the confidenti­al informant arranged with Trice, Jr. to purchase an amount of Oxycodone in exchange for

money. The transactio­n occurred at a predetermi­ned time and location within Chester County. When the informant and Trice, Jr. met, Trice, Jr. provided the informant with several small blue tablets stamped “M” “30”. The informant provided Trice, Jr. with an amount of pre-recorded drug task force funds in exchange for the tablets, later identified as 30mg Oxycondone Hyrdochlor­ide.

These purchases continued on seven other occasions, Sadlak said. On the eighth occasion, the informant arranged with Trice, Jr. to purchase an amount of Oxycodone and powder cocaine in exchange for cash.

At approximat­ely 9:49 a.m. Feb. 6, Officer Robert Gilbert conducted a vehicle stop in the 1300 block of Pottstown Pike in West Goshen on a red Buick Lucerne. The vehicle is owned and was operated by Tony Timothy Trice, Jr. Trice, Jr. was taken into custody and transporte­d to the West Goshen Township Police station. Trice, Jr. was searched prior to the arrest and found to be in possession of 25 blue tablets stamped “E” “8”, a clear plastic knotted bag containing white powder and a pink zip lock bag containing white powder Officers took possession of the tablets and white powder. A field test on each package of white powder was conducted and police received a positive result for the presence of cocaine.

Trice was arraigned and sent to Chester County Prison in lieu of $100,000 cash bail.
