Chester County Bar Association earns awards
LANCASTER » The Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) presented County Bar Recognition Awards to the Chester County Bar Association during the 52nd Annual Seminar of the Conference of County Bar Leaders, Feb. 22 to Feb. 24, at the Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square, Lancaster.
Recognized for its Learning On Line (LOL) and Member Appreciation Month projects, the Chester County Bar Association is one of 23 local bar associations in Pennsylvania honored this year for sponsoring projects that improve the legal profession, justice system or community. The awards are presented annually by the PBA.
“It’s an inspiration to see lawyers bettering communities where they live and work, and it is important to recognize this commitment to service,” said Sharon R. López, PBA president. “I commend the county bar associations and the many volunteers needed to make these programs a success.”
The association introduced a Learning On Line (LOL) module to its website, allowing members to access continuing legal education seminars remotely. This self-paced program is available 24/7, and provides members with the ability to print their certificates of attendance and access/view previously purchased seminars in the online library. This “distance learning” option for members serves as a valuable member benefit.
The association offered an activity, service, treat or incentive every day of the month of November for member appreciation. Free logo design services, portrait photos, yoga lessons, free smoothies and drone lessons were offered. Several social and networking events were held and a member was highlighted each week on the association’s social media platforms. Prizes were given out at the end of the month at a member appreciation happy hour.
The Conference of County Bar Leaders, whose membership includes leaders from county bar associations throughout the state and from the PBA, organizes a yearly educational conference focusing on the exchange of innovative bar association projects and ideas, and on the development of mutually-beneficial relationships among bar leaders that improve the legal profession.
