Horace G. ‘Butch’ Marsh Jr. of Honey Brook

Horace G. “Butch” Marsh, Jr., 76, of Honey Brook, died on Sunday, February, 25, 2018 at the Lancaster General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Mary Ellen Smoker Marsh, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage. Born in Coatesvill­e, he was the son of the late Horace G. Marsh, Sr. and Elizabeth Miller Marsh.

Horace was a Chester County resident all his life. He was employed by Fuji Rebio Pharmaceut­ical Co. of Malvern retiring in 2014.

Horace was a member of Our Lady of Consolatio­n Church. He was also a life member of the Brandywine and West End fire companies of Coatesvill­e Pa. and the Atglen Fire Company, Past Chief of the Sadsburyvi­lle Fire Company. He was one of the original members of the Chester County Fire Chiefs Associatio­n which was formed in 1971. He was also a fire school instructor for Chester County during the 1970’s.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by three children; Steven Marsh and wife Kim of Lititz, David Marsh and Theresa Verdegem of Kinzers and Jennifer Neff of Willow Street, three grandchild­ren and one sister Patricia Dunleavy and husband Michael of West Chester.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Consolatio­n Church, 603 W 2nd Ave., Parkesburg, PA 19365 with a viewing from 10 until 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Parkesburg Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Horace’s memory to the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602.
