Joseph Joel Gramling, III, 80, of Exton, PA passed away on February 26, 2018.

Born in Milwaukee, WI in 1937, to the late Dr. Joseph J. Gramling, Jr. and Marcella (Walsh) Gramling. He was the oldest son of six children.

He graduated from Marquette High School and Marquette University.

Joel was a proud Army Veteran, having served when the Berlin wall went up.

He worked in Sales and Marketing for A.O. Smith Corp., Teledyne, Rexnord Bio Marine and The Donohue Funeral Home and for the last 30 years, he was the owner of Gramling & Associates.

Joel was Fire Police Captain for Lionville Fire Company as well as past President, Secretary and Life Member. He was Fire Police Lt. for Ludwigs Corner Fire Company, Past President of Chester County Fire Police Associatio­n, life member of Uwchlan Ambulance Corps, one of the founding fathers of Lionville Youth Associatio­n, Umpire and Security Officers for over 30 years.

He was a devout Catholic, who believed in community service and volunteeri­ng.

He was a diehard Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed many games at Lambeau Field. He loved spending time with his family and he and Linda were frequent cruisers. He was an avid picture taker, earning him the affectiona­te nickname of Two Flash Gramling.

Joel was the beloved husband of Linda (Roberts) Gramling; loving father of Joel IV (Maria), Michelle (Scott) of Sacramento, CA, Karen of Douglassvi­lle, PA, Judy (Dan) of Randolph, NJ, Karen (Jay) of Limerick, PA and Matthew (Sue) of West Chester, PA and the late Thomas (Karen); dear grandfathe­r of Kyle, Joel V & Zachary Gramling, Jessica & Jack Gramling, Carly, Kelsey, Kyle & Ryan Szot, Hayley & Colby Raach, Ignatius & his expected thirteenth Gramling grandchild; dearest brother of Luanne Leising (Jim) and Marcy Tixier (David), the late Jane Carlin (Pat), Michael (Lyle) and Dr. Paul (Kathy); brother-in-law of Ross Roberts of Costa Rica.

Family and friends are invited to his Viewing 6:009:00 PM Thursday, March 1, 2018 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, 610-431-9000 and 9:30-10:30 AM Friday at SS. Philip & James Church, 107 N. Ship Road, Exton, PA 19341 followed by his Funeral Mass 10:45 AM. Interment Private.
