PHOENIXVILLE » A Phoenixville woman has been charged with assault after she allegedly stabbed her husband in their home.

Dianne Rodgers, 60, of Phoenixville, was arrested after police were dispatched to the 200 block of Hall Street at around 6:20 p.m. on Sunday for a reported domestic disturbance.

According to court records, police arrived and met the victim, who was standing on the front porch of the residence. Police said he had blood on his hands, his shirt was wet and he showed the officer an incised wound on the right side of his stomach. The wound was bleeding and was approximately one-half inch in width, police said.

The victim told police that he had an argument with his wife and that she stabbed him. The victim said he was cooking dinner when she “walked into the kitchen, pulled a knife from the drawer and stabbed him on the stomach.” She then threw the knife in the kitchen sink, he said. The knife was described as green in color, according to court documents.

Police then looked in the kitchen sink and found a green kitchen knife. The blade was approximately 5 to 6 inches in length and was collected as evidence, police said.

Rodgers denies stabbing her husband, according to court documents.

The victim refused EMS transport and medical treatment.

Police say since January 2016, officers have responded to eight incidents of domestic disturbances at the same residence.

Rodgers has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of an instrument of crime, simple assault and harassment. She was arraigned on Feb. 18 before District Judge Thomas T. Tartaglio and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Feb. 28 before District Judge Joann Teyral. She was unable to post the set $25,000 bail and is being held at Chester County Prison.
