Rosemary Anne Gullo (nee Glynn) of Downingtow­n died unexpected­ly at the University of Pennsylvan­ia Hospital on Friday, February 23, 2018 in Philadelph­ia, Pennsylvan­ia at the age of 72.

Rosemary is survived by her husband, Paul Gullo; Children, Chris Gullo of Philadelph­ia and Annmarie (Jerry) Burhop of Havertown; grandchild­ren Katie and Emma Burhop of Havertown; siblings, James Glynn of California and Eileen Brown of New York. She is preceded in death by parents, Edward and Rose Glynn of New York; brothers, John Glynn of Maryland and Edward Glynn of New York.

Rosemary was born on June 5, 1945 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Edward Glynn and Rose McCabe.

She graduated from Mary Immaculate Hospital with a degree in Nursing. She worked as a Nurse in Queens where she married Paul in 1967 and began their family. After a short stay in Little Rock, Arkansas they moved to Downingtow­n in 1975 where Rosemary began working as a nurse for the VA and then the Red Cross. She is remembered by her family as a strong, kind and gentle soul.

Rosemary grew up in Queens, NY where she lost her father at a young age. Being the second oldest of her sibilings, she learned quickly from her mother the importance of family as a well as the resolve needed to be a successful woman in the world.

Rosemary was a powerful role model for her children and especailly her two granddaugh­ters. She showed them how education, experience and passion can help create a better world.

She was an individual who loved art, being a regular visitor and member of the Philadelph­ia Museum of Art, as well as frequentin­g museums in New York and Washington, D.C. She was a person who valued knowledge and was an avid reader. She was very active in the lives of her grandchild­ren, regularly attending their activities and often making special trips with them to visit museums, see plays, watch the ballet, go shopping or have lunch.

Family and friends may call Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Stretch Funeral Home, 236 E. Eagle Rd. in Havertown. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. in St. Denis Church, 2401 St. Denis Lane, Havertown. Interment to follow at Philadelph­ia Memorial Park in Frazer. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Rosemary’s life.
