Police seek woman in connection with vehicle thefts

WEST GOSHEN » Police are looking for a woman who is wanted in connection with thefts from several vehicles in West Goshen Township. Police said anyone who recognizes the woman pictured should call them at 610-696-7400.

Police urge residents to remove valuables from their vehicles and to always lock their doors.

DUI » Joseph E. Matonak Jr., 46, of Coatesvill­e was arrested and charged with DUI and related traffic offenses, after the 2007 Cadillac he was driving was stopped for speeding and for spinning its tires at a traffic light, causing the rear of the vehicle to slide out. The incident occurred on Feb. 11 at 1:44 p.m. in the 1200 block of Newark Road, in New Garden Township. Upon making contact with Matonak, police indicators suggesting intoxicati­on. After failing field sobriety tests, he was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI.

Downingtow­n

BURGLARY » Police were dispatched to the Downingtow­n Friends Meeting House, located at 800 East Lancaster Avenue at 7:20 a.m. on Feb. 23 for a burglary. A door to the building had a glass pane smashed in sometime between Monday night at 6 p.m. and this morning. Police said it does not appear that any items were taken. WARRANTS » John Anthony Santangelo, 36, of Downingtow­n was taken into custody Feb. 22 in the 600 block of East Lancaster Avenue for two active Criminal Warrants out of Montgomery County at 7:30 p.m. Santangelo was turned over to West Conshohock­en Police. DRUG CHARGES » Elyse Eugenia Hulse, 31, of Downingtow­n was taken into custody from her home Feb. 22 in the 300 block of Jefferson Avenue at 9:20 p.m. Officers were called to the home for Hulse’s erratic behavior. Officers were trying to calm her down, when she placed drug parapherna­lia in front of the officers, at which time Hulse was taken into custody. Hulse is facing multiple drug charges.
