Four artists to create pieces live at The Hickman’s Art of Caring: Passport to Art

On March 24, The Hickman will bring back the Art of Caring fundraising event at Oakbourne Mansion, 1014 South Concord Road, West Chester, PA 19382 from 6 to 9 p.m. During “Art of Caring: Passport to Art” guests will travel throughout the mansion watching artists create pieces live.

While enjoying delectable fare by John Serock Catering, guests will have the opportunity to see Angie Gifford design a fascinator, Nanci Hersh create a mixed media painting, Elva Hurst draw a piece of chalk art, and Mitch Lyons make a clay monoprint. The artwork they create during the event, along with other fine art and items, will be part of the silent and/or live auction that evening.

Other items include tickets to the Tony Award winning Broadway production of “Hamilton” in New York City, a four-course French dinner for 6 at the winner’s home prepared by Chef Sylvie, pieces from the John Hardy silver bamboo jewelry collection, and much more.

Funds raised through Art of Caring will support The Hickman’s Resident Assistance Fund. For 127 years, The Hickman has provided a safe and thriving home for countless seniors in need of care in West Chester borough. The Hickman has a long history of providing financial assistance to residents who have exhausted their financial resources and are no longer able to cover room, board, and additional personal care services.
