-

A community workshop is open to area residents to learn about improvement plans for Route 30.

EAST WHITELAND » A community workshop Thursday is open to residents, business owners and employees to learn about improvement plans for Route 30.

The meeting on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Desmond Malvern is the second Community Workshop being hosted by East Whiteland Township. The plans are a part of the township’s Route 30 Corridor Master Plan to make Route 30 into more of a “main street” with a thriving place to live, work and play. The plan includes mixed-use developments and amenities like sidewalks, bus shelters, bike lanes, community parks and more.

“We value the input from the public and hope our residents and business owners take time out of their busy schedules to attend this workshop,” said Township Manager John Nagel. “We need to make sure we’re planning for amenities that they want to see and use.”

This Community Workshop will display the draft transportation and land use conceptual plans suggested by the public from the first Community Workshop held back in October 2017. The public is encouraged to attend this workshop anytime between 5 and 8 p.m. to help refine the township’s plans. Formal presentations of the plan will be at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
