2018 Devon Horse Show May 24 to June 3

DEVON » Despite the snowy weather this past week it’s almost time for Spring. That means it’s almost time for Devon too! We have been very busy planning a great 2018 show and we wanted to update you on some of the great fun in store for this year.

In the Ring

Kicking off May 24th and running through June 3rd, the show will once again bring together top equestrians from a variety of disciplines. The show will feature classes in the jumper, equitation, hunter, Saddlebred, hackney and coaching divisions for everyone to enjoy.

The stakes and prizes are greater than ever before. The Devon Open Jumper Section will now offer $475,000 in possible earnings to 30 of the most elite open jumper riders. All classes will have FEI CD14* ranking and athletes competing in these classes will be eligible to acquire world-ranking points. Celebrating its 40th anniversary on May 31st, the Sapphire Grand Prix of Devon will be the signature event of the show - offering $250,000 in prize money.

For the second year in a row, on May 27th, the Devon Horse Show will also host the $50,000 Arena Eventing Class featuring a blend of cross-country jumps and

stadium jumps. This class, open to 40 of the country’s top athletes, is sure to again wow spectators.

Special Events

Join us for the 15th Annual First Night at Devon celebration on May 23rd. Attendees at this elegant cocktail party have en exclusive opportunity to preview the art to be displayed and sold during the show.

On May 28th Devon will again honor our military and service personnel with the Tribute to Heroes. Military and first responders can enjoy free admission and special seating thanks to the generous sponsorship of Patriot Chevrolet Buick GMC.

Hats and heels will abound on May 30th, which is Ladies Day at Devon. Stay tuned for this year’s theme, which will be announced later this month. Start preparing your finest chapeau now for the hat contest.

Mark your Calendar

This year’s Volunteer Appreciation Party will be held, Sunday, April 29th from 4 to 6 p.m. at the show grounds. Sign up to volunteer in your favorite booth. Better yet, get your company, organization or even neighborhood together and take over a shift for an entire shift! All volunteers receive badges that entitle you to free admission during the entire show. Join us at the party and enjoy delicious refreshments, wine, and beer while finding out more about how fun it is to volunteer at Devon.
