Anna G. (Oaks) Hopkins
Anna G. Hopkins, 98, formerly of Adamstown, died Mar. 9, 2018, in Wellington at Hershey’s Mill, West Chester. Born in West Reading, a daughter of the late George W. & Edna Mae (Werley) Oaks, her husband of 71 years, Kenneth Hopkins, died June 12, 2015. A 1937 Reading HS graduate, Anna worked at various Air Force bases with her late husband, for Reading HS, Vanity Fair, Boehringer’s Drive-In & Bollman Hat Co. She was an active member of Peace United Church of Christ & was involved with youth fellowship at the former St. Paul’s Church, Adamstown, a Girl Scout Leader & former pres. of Adamstown Woman’s Club. Anna never missed a Flyers game, loved bowling, playing cards, games (especially mahjong) & supported her grand & great-grandchildren’s sports events. Trips to Cape May with family & friends were special to her. She loved life and all it had to offer! Surviving: daughter, Gerry Ann (Eric L.) Flicker, West Chester; grandchildren, Andrea Youndt & Kimberly Evans; great-grandchildren, Olivia & Sidney Evans; stepgrandchildren, Michael (Kim) Flicker & Scott (Michelle) Flicker; & step-greatgrandchildren, Ryan & Kaitlyn Flicker. A sister, Sara Kolb, predeceased her. Services will be Friday, March 16, at 11 AM from Peace UCC, 37 E. Swartzville Rd., Denver, PA 17517, with viewing from 10 to 11 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Adamstown. Rather than flowers, contributions to Peace UCC at the above address.
