-

Grace Ovelman, 93, of West Chester died Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Paoli Memorial Hospital Paoli, PA.

Born in Easton, PA, she was the daughter of Phillip and Rose Spaziani. Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ovelman, her 5 siblings, her son, Philip Ovelman, her grandson, Paul Ovelman, granddaughter, Kate Ovelman and great-grandson, Eli Brookens. She is survived by her fiancé, Joseph Tigue, her brother Phillip Spaziani (Mary Jean), her sister Tina Todd, sisters-inlaw Liz, Lois, Thelma, and Joanne Spaziani, daughter Nancy Ovelman, son Joseph Ovelman, daughters-in-law Caryle Glah and Colleen Johnson, 3 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

Grace attended schools in Easton and after graduation attended St. Agnes School of Nursing. Grace went on to get her BSN from West Chester University and her Masters in Public Health from Villanova University.

Grace relished her lifelong nursing career, caring for patients in hospitals, doctor offices, and in their homes, as well as children in schools and on the sports fields. Long after retirement, Grace continued nursing, a true labor of love. Grace received numerous awards throughout her life. Most recently, she was honored for her service as a young woman in the US Cadet Nurse Corps.

Grace will be remembered for her love of family and friends. She could always invent a reason to host a picnic, a party, or dinner where there was enough food to feed the proverbial army. She was quick to break into song. She had just the right one for every occasion, and she loved nothing more than sing- ing her favorite songs with those she loved.

Grace drew strength and peace from her faith, a devoted Catholic, who was a 70-year member of St. Agnes Church in West Chester, PA.

Grace donated her body to Science Care. A memorial service is planned for a later date. Donations in Grace’s name may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Delaware Valley Chapter, 2004 Sproul Road, Suite 208, Broomall, PA 19008.

Grace’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Hospice at Main Line Health and Visiting Angels for their compassionate care.
