County sheriff’s deputies apprehend eight fugitives

WEST CHESTER » Throughout the month of February 2018, the Chester County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehensi­on Unit arrested eight defendants without incident, although one provided a false ID and another tried to take cover behind a couch.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Dereck Norcross, 26, of Spring City, at an address in the 200 block of Bridge Street in Spring City Borough on Feb. 1. Norcross initially provided false identifica­tion but was correctly identified by the deputies on scene; he now faces additional criminal charges from Spring City Borough Police as a result. Norcross had a bench warrant for an alleged violation of probation/parole.

Jabar Thornton-Bey, 25, of Phoenixvil­le, was taken into custody on Feb. 1 at an address in the 200 block of Dayton Street in Phoenixvil­le Borough. ThorntonBe­y had a bench warrant for an alleged violation of probation/parole.

Sheriff’s deputies found Greg Koniow on Feb. 1 at an address in Norristown, Montgomery County. Koniow, 32, of Phoenixvil­le, had a bench warrant for an alleged violation of probation/parole. In addition, Koniow had a separate criminal warrant.

Deputies arrested Evan Kinman, 28, of West Chester, at an address in the 300 block of North New Street in West Chester Borough on Feb. 9. Kinman had a bench warrant for an alleged violation of probation/parole.

Shannon Hurley, 39, of Avondale, was taken into custody at an address in the 9100 block of Gap Newport Pike in New Garden Township on Feb. 9. Hurley had a bench warrant for an alleged violation of probation/parole as well as a separate criminal warrant.

Also on Feb. 9, deputies apprehende­d Justin Bailey at an address in the 400 block of West Second Avenue in Parkesburg Borough. Bailey, 29, of Parkesburg, had a bench warrant for an alleged violation of probation/parole.

Michael Landis, 33, of Parkesburg, was arrested at an address in the 700 block of Mount Vernon Road in Gap, Lancaster County, on Feb. 15. Landis had a bench warrant for an alleged violation of probation/parole.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Tyrone Harley at an address in the 300 block of East Bradford Avenue in Downingtow­n Borough on Feb. 22. Harley, 30, of Downingtow­n, attempted to hide behind a couch, but was quickly located by deputies. Harley had a bench warrant for an alleged violation of probation/parole.
