Redistricting forum set for Wednesday at WCU
WEST CHESTER » John J. Kennedy, political science expert and author of “Pennsylvania Government and Politics,” will discuss “Pennsylvania in Disarray: Congressional Redistricting 2018” at a Political Science Network First Wednesday event on Wednesday.
Free and open to the public, the conversation will take place from 5-6:30 p.m. in Sykes Student Union Room 10A on the West Chester University campus.
Kennedy is a WCU political science professor who has been an expert witness in the case League of Women Voters v. Pennsylvania, which struck down Pennsylvania’s congressional maps. He also wrote the books “The Contemporary Pennsylvania State Legislature and Pennsylvania Elections.”
At WCU, he teaches courses in American government, Pennsylvania government, state and local government, the U. S. Congress, and American political parties. Kennedy is a frequent political commentator and has been featured on NBC, NPR, and PBS as well as in the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, the Philadelphia Inquirer, and Al-Jazeera America.
Members of the public as well as the WCU campus community are invited to share their thoughts on redistricting and engage in conversation about this important topic.
