Half-brothers wanted for murder captured
Tyrell Jacobs and Timothy ‘TJ’ Jacobs apprehended in Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA » Tyrell Jacobs and Timothy “T.J.” Jacobs, halfbrothers who were wanted in connection with the April 11 murder of Eric Brown at the Star Social Club, were captured Tuesday night in Philadelphia, according to a news release from the Chester County District Attorney’s Office.
The release said that the Jacobs brothers gunned down Brown after an argument which was captured on surveillance cameras.
The brothers fled. They were almost captured on multiple occasions over the last couple of days as the United States Marshals Service for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, working with West Chester Police and Chester County detectives pursued, according to the release.
The brothers were captured at 6 p.m. Tuesday at 40 N. Robinson St. in West Philadelphia.
West Chester Police Chief Scott Bohn said that law enforcement agencies did an excellent job of pursing and taking the suspects off the street.
“This was a senseless act of murder and we will continue to investigate the incident and pursue justice for the victim and his family,” Bohn said.
District Attorney Tom Hogan said the department always appreciates the assistance of colleagues at the U.S. Marshals Service.
“Whether running down Barry Baker, the man who suckerpunched a disabled victim, or capturing those two dangerous fugitives, the Fugitive Task Force is relentless in tracking down bad guys,”
Hogan said. “Now these two will face justice.”
The defendants will be arraigned in Chester County on Wednesday. Because the brothers are charged with first-degree murder, they are not eligible for bail.
