Sheriff’s office corrals five fugitives
The Chester County Sheriff’s Office apprehended five fugitives, two of whom tried to evade capture.
WEST CHESTER » The Chester County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit apprehended five fugitives in April, two of whom unsuccessfully attempted to evade capture: One jumped onto the awning of a second-story window and another slipped out a rear door.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Zachary A. Pennell, 26, of Oxford, without incident at an address in the 100 block of Cemetery Road in Nottingham on April 6. Pennell had a bench warrant for an alleged violation of probation/parole.
Deputies took Lewis E. McClaskey Jr., 26, of Coatesville, into custody at an address in the 100 block of Reid Road in Coatesville on April 13. McClaskey had a bench warrant for an alleged violation of probation/parole.
Matthew K. Clary, 30, of Coatesville, was apprehended on April 13 by sheriff’s deputies at an address in the 600 block of Reeceville Road in Coatesville. Clary had a bench warrant for an alleged violation of probation/parole, as well as two warrants for failing to appear for trial.
Also on April 13, sheriff’s deputies arrested Vincent A. Diferdinando, 29, of Coatesville, at an address in the 100 block of North Mount Airy Road in Coatesville. Diferdinando initially tried to avoid capture by sneaking through a rear door, but was quickly taken into custody by deputies. Diferdinando had a criminal warrant issued by the West Brandywine Township Police Department as well as three warrants from the Chester County Domestic Relations Office.
Deputies arrested Anthony Steely, 26, of Modena, on April 20 at an address in the 100 block of Caton Road in Honey Brook. Steely attempted to avoid capture by hopping onto the awning of the home’s second-story window, where he was immediately spotted by deputies. He retreated back through the window but then heeded the deputies’ orders to surrender and was taken into custody. Steely had a bench warrant for an alleged violation of probation/parole as well as a warrant issued by the Chester County Domestic Relations Office.
