Pennsylvania State Police: Search for Anna Bronislawa Maciejewska now a murder investigation
CHARLESTOWN » Aftermore than a year since her disappearance, Pennsylvania State Police said the search for a missing Malvern mother has turned into a murder investigation.
Anna Bronislawa Maciejewska was reported missing last April and she seems to be gone without a trace.
“Her digital footprint has disappeared,” said Cpl. Robert Kirby, of the Avondale Barracks, who is overseeing the investigation. “It’s like she doesn’t exist.”
Pennsylvania State Police Embreeville Barracks have been gathering information on her whereabouts during the two weeks prior to her reported disappearance. She had that time off fromwork and planned to return on April 10, 2017.
Maciejewska’s friends believe she has beenmissing sinceMarch 28, 2017. That was the last day that her parents heard her voice on the phone. Her family said
they talked daily.
Maciejewska’s husband, Allen Gould, told Pennsylvania State Police that he last saw Maciejewska on April 10, 2017 leaving their Charlestown Township home in the Malvern area on Hedgerow Lane, where they reside with their fouryearold son. She left that morning for work but she never arrived at Voya Financial in West Chester.
Her employer reported her missing the following day when she didn’t show that day either. Her employer reported her missing on April 11 and her husband reported her missing on April 12.
Her car, a navy blue 2011 Audi A4, was found in May 2017 in the overflow lot on AshtreeDrive near herhome, but state police said it’s unknown if she frequented that area or not which has walking trails. State police then searched the wooded area and the walking trails in the Charlestown Meadows Development.
Search parties by the public have been held faithfully since her reported disappearance without any luck. Greater Philadelphia Search and Rescue ( GSPAR) joined the efforts in June 2017 to assist in searching for Maciejewska.
State police are continuing to search for any evidence as to what may have happened to her.
“We don’t believe that it’s some type of random act,” Kirby said.
She had a trip to Poland planned out to visit family, but she cancelled her plans and state police don’t believe she left the country.
“We don’t believe that Anna would just leave and not come back,” Kirby said about her disappearance. “She has a son and a job.”
State police said last year that Gould initially provided useful information, then later would only speak to police through his lawyer, and now Kirby said Gould is not cooperating.
State police are continuing to ask the public for help as they track down any possible leads.
“We are looking into every tip we receive,” Kirby said. “We are not ruling out any suspects.”
Crime Stoppers has increased the reward to $ 30,000 for information leading to an arrest.
Maciejewska is described as 5- feet 4- inches tall, weighs about 160 pounds and has hazel eyes and blonde hair. State police ask that anyone with information regarding her whereabouts contact police by dialing 911 or Pennsylvania State Police Embreeville Station at 610- 486- 6280.
