Police probe murder- suicide

Law enforcemen­t often at house responding to domestic disputes

WEST GOSHEN » Police are investigat­ing an apparent murder- suicide after a man and woman were discovered dead inside their home early Friday morning.

Police were dispatched to the home in the 300 block of North Five Points Road at 6: 37 a. m. and were met by family members in the driveway.

Police officers searched the home and discovered the bodies of an adult male and an adult female in the living room of the residence. Initial reports did not indicate the type of weapon used to carry out the crime.

A preliminar­y investigat­ion has determined a ruling of murder followed by suicide. Police said there are no outstandin­g suspects and there is no danger to the public.

Police are not identifyin­g the couple pending notificati­on of next of kin. The couple reportedly had young children, who were waiting in the driveway when police arrived.

The Chester County Coroner’s Office has taken possession of the deceased and will complete their investigat­ion. As soon as the appropriat­e notificati­ons are made to other family members, the identities of the deceased will be released to the public.

Police had been called to the residence for reports of domestic dispute many times this year.

The house where the murdersuic­ide occurred is about a block from the West Goshen police station.

Goshen in the past nine months. In August of last year, Clayton Carter, 51, was charged with first- degree murder after police say he shot and killed his neighbor, Brooks Jennings, along the 300 block of Box Elder Drive. A .380 caliber semi- automatic handgun and two shell casings were recovered at the scene. Carter claimed Jennings attacked him with a knife, prosecutor­s said.
