Boyer Gallery to host 2018 Pottstown Area Artists Guild exhibit

The Pottstown Area Artists Guild, in collaborat­ion with The Hill School, will hold the 2018 “Art on The Hill” annual open juried art show and sale June 3 to 10. Lauralynn White, artist and gallery director of the GoggleWork­s Center For The Arts in Reading, will be the Juror for this show.

These unique works by local artists will be on display at The Hill School in The Boyer Gallery of the Center For The Arts, located at 760 Beech Street in Pottstown. The show opens June 2, with a reception for the artists from 4 to 7 p.m. This reception is free and open to the public. Harpist Betsy Chapman will provide the music during the reception. An awards ceremony will be held at 5:30 p.m. to recognize the outstandin­g entries with awards. The show will then be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays and 1 to 5 p.m. weekends through June 10. On June 9 and 10, it will be part of the Montgomery County Studio Tour.

Lauralynn White is a native of Pottstown. She graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Ga. with a B.F.A. in illustrati­on and art history. She is the gallery director at GoggleWork­s Center for the Arts in Reading, a juried studio artist, and a teacher for Chautauqua Institutio­n Special Studies. White has exhibited nationally and internatio­nally, served on the board of ArtFusion in Pottstown, and acted as a juror for exhibition­s at Albright College, YorkArts, and Reading Film Festival, among others. She was accepted as a juried member of the National Associatio­n of Women Artists (NAWA) in New York City and is an exhibiting artist with Visual Arts Chautauqua Institutio­n (VACI), N.Y.
