Elizabeth V. Sweeney of West Chester

Elizabeth V. Sweeney, 92, of West Chester, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018, at Neighborhood Hospice.

She was the devoted wife of the late Jim Sweeney, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage before he passed away in 2006.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth Horn.

She was a 1943 graduate of Bartram High School and worked at Sealtest Ice Cream and the Chester County Courthouse.

She was active in the West Chester Garden Club and volunteered for The American Cancer Society and the Bring and Buy Shop.

Betty adored her immediate and extended family.

Betty is survived by her children, Jim Sweeney, Jr., Nancy Harris, Gail Sweeney and Bob Sweeney; grandchildren, Matthew, Jenny and Patrick; two great grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Pacocha.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at the Founds Funeral Home, Inc., 229 South High Street, West Chester, 610696-0134, where the family will receive guests starting at 9:30 a.m.

Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. at Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill.
