Crime Victims Center opens new drop-in locations
WEST CHESTER » The Crime Victims Center of Chester County, Inc., Chester County’s victim advocacy agency located in downtown West Chester, has walk-in intake hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at their West Chester office. CVC has established pilot drop-in centers across the county for even greater access. The dropin centers have designated weekly times for individuals to come to that location and speak with a CVC representative, learn about the agency’s services, and discuss their specific situation.
“Transportation can be a huge issue for potential clients coming to see us in downtown West Chester so we have established this pilot program in Phoenixville, Oxford, Kennett Square, and Coatesville areas and we are excited to partner with other nonprofit agencies to expand our reach,” explained Christine Zaccarelli, Esquire, CEO of CVC.
The CVC drop-in locations and schedule is as follows: Orion Communities on Tuesdays from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. (Phoenixville); Oxford Area Neighborhood Services Center on Thursdays from 9 to 11 a.m. (Oxford); Kennett Area Community Services on Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Kennett Square); and Coatesville Community Health Center at MCHC on Thursdays from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. (Coatesville).
“Opening our doors to CVC provides a critical resource to our most vulnerable neighbors in northern Chester County,” shared Kris Keller, Executive Director of Orion Communities in Phoenixville.
“We are happy to have Crime Victims join our center to provide greater access to their services for those who have been victims in the Coatesville area. They will complement the network of providers and services we currently have within our center to provide a greater level of unified support and care for those in need,” said Kathryn Spurlock, Director of the Coatesville Center for Community Health.
Those who have been victimized by a crime in Chester County can reach out to CVC at any time through their 24-hour hotlines (610692-7273 or 610-692-7420). They can also take advantage of the new drop-in center schedule at the above locations that is now in effect.
