2 arrested on drug charges in Caln
CALN » Proactive overnight policing led to the arrest of two men on drug charges, police said.
The Caln Township Police Department announced the arrest of Richard Coleman, 33, of the 200 block of Caranel Circle in Caln, and Joseph Hendricks, 31, of the 700 block of West Second Avenue in Parkesburg, for possession and intent to deliver controlled substances.
Caln officers said they found Coleman and Hendricks in a vehicle located in a parking lot in the 3400 block of Lincoln Highway in Thorndale at 4:23 a.m. Monday. Officers reportedly seized suspected illegal narcotics consistent with heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana, and prescription drugs, as well as cash and a handgun, according to the police report.
Coleman was charged with possession of controlled substances with intent to deliver, as well as weapons violations, and Hendricks was charged with possession of controlled substances and related charges, according to police and the online criminal report. According to his online criminal report, Coleman is not allowed to possess a weapon. Police said additional narcotics charges are pending.
Both were arraigned by District Justice Analisa Sondergaard. Coleman was remanded to Chester County Prison after being unable to post $15,000 cash bail. Hendricks’ bail was set at $15,000 unsecured, however he was remanded to Chester County Prison on a parole violation detainer. Their preliminary hearing is scheduled on June 27 in front of Magisterial District Judge Jeffrey J. Valocchi.
