Police arrested two people for public drunkennes­s who were reportedly stumbling and walking into the road.

Police arrested two people for public drunkennes­s who were reportedly stumbling and walking onto the roadway.

A Coatesvill­e officer patrolling South First Avenue and Maple Avenue observed a man and a woman walking in an unsteady manner and stumbling at 12:20 a.m. on June 17. The officer said the man reportedly wandered into the street as he stumbled.

The officer turned around and made contact with the pair, identified by police as Keri Oliver and Erika Devaughn. At this point, Oliver was on the ground and Devaughn stood over him. As the officer exited his patrol car, Oliver stood up and reportedly got in Devaughn’s face. Police said Oliver appeared high and held Devaughn’s head close to his in an aggressive manner. The officer said he attempted to pull Oliver away and Oliver turned and reportedly struck the officer in the face with his hand.

Oliver, 32, and Devaughn, 31, both of Coatesvill­e, were arrested for public drunkennes­s and held at the station until they sobered.

Warrant

Coatesvill­e police responded to a call reporting that Matthew Myers Jr., who was known to have a criminal warrant out of Coatesvill­e City, was in the unit block of Quarry Street in Caln Township. Coatesvill­e police arrived to assist Caln police to take Myers, 27, of Coatesvill­e, into custody at 9:25 p.m. on June 18.

Hit and run

Coatesvill­e police responded to the area of Madison and Plum for a hit-andrun accident at 8:43 p.m. on June 8. Police made contact with a female victim who advised that she was traveling west on Madison when a red Chrysler 200 reportedly struck her vehicle and caused damage. The driver of the Chrysler reportedly fled the scene after the crash. No injuries were reported.

Police viewed surveillan­ce footage and said they determined that Carol L. Francisco, 47, of Coatesvill­e, was driving the Chrysler at the time of the accident. Charges are pending.

Simple assault

Responding to a domestic disturbanc­e at the Extended Stay Hotel at 9:20 a.m. on June 14, Uwchlan officers arrested a male for simple assault after the victim received injuries to her neck and face.

Terroristi­c threats

Following up on a reported threat of violence towards the Downingtow­n East High School on social media, the writer of the threat, identified by Uwchlan police as a student at the high school, was charged with terroristi­c threats at 10:15 p.m. on May 13. Police said the investigat­ion determined the student had no means to carry out the threat and had made no effort to plan out an attack.

Theft

Uwchlan police responded to a request from the Target Loss Prevention Officer on May 30 and charged two employees with theft; theft by deception; conspiracy to commit theft and receiving stolen property after an internal investigat­ion by Target.

Drug charges

Uwchlan police said while conducting a park check at Shamona Park on June 6 at 11:10 p.m., officers arrested two of the three occupants of a car. The driver was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana and a passenger was charged with possession of marijuana.

After conducting a traffic stop on June 9 at 6:30 a.m., Uwchlan officers arrested the driver for possession of marijuana and drug parapherna­lia.

Uwchlan police responded to a reported suspicious vehicle on May 8 at 10:50 p.m. The operator of the car was charged with possession of marijuana; possession of drug parapherna­lia and prohibited offensive weapons (springload­ed knife).
