VF Casino offers July wedding promotion
UPPER MERION » When it comes to popping the question, the Fourth of July may not be romantically rated as high as Christmas and Valentine’s Day, but it’s still an enticing time for couples to get engaged.
According to Weddingwire. com, that’s because most people have off from work and could also be reveling in more leisure time by traveling.
Valley Forge Casino Resort, 1160 First Ave., King of Prussia, is using the month of July to promote its award-winning weddings by offering all kinds of giveaways and specials, noted senior wedding specialist Terri Hughes
“Since we’re finding out that quite a few couples are getting engaged over the course of the summer, we thought that creating this awareness in July would be a fun thing for them,” said senior wedding specialist Terri Hughes. “There are lots of bridal shows in January and February during the big engagement season after the holidays, but if you’re getting engaged over July 4 we have this great promotion going on . In the month of July you can book your wedding for a future month.”
The first 70 couples who schedule wedding consultations in July will receive a $75 gift certificate redeemable to Revolution Chop House or Valley Tavern, Hughes pointed out.
Additionally, all weddings reserved in July will receive 10 percent off the entire wedding package. Weddings can be booked for any available future dates with no date restrictions, explained Hughes, who is on site the day of the wedding.
“When a bride comes in they meet with us for the first time, and if they book with us I’m the one who would detail all their wedding plans and then I’m here the day of the wedding as well to make sure all those plans come to fruition,” Hughes said.
Valley Forge Casino Resort is also giving away four Intimate Wedding Packages, one each week in July. The packages are ideal for couples looking to elope or that had a small destination wedding and now want to share their joy with family and friends, Hughes noted.

“A couple just has to come in and talk to us and we can get everything done for a smaller wedding,” Hughes said. “For larger weddings, we have preferred vendors for everything from cakes and DJs to flowers and linens.”
Adding to the fun all month long will be “Wedding Cake Flash Mobs,” designed to surprise casino guests with wed-
ding cake samples.
“Each one of our baker vendors is baking cakes and bringing in samples of those cakes and will go through the casino floor and give out samples to everyone. People in the casino who are gambling might not know they or someone they know could have a wedding here. We’re actually hoping they may know people whose sons and daughters may be getting married,” added Hughes, who noted that Valley Forge Casino Resort distinguishes itself from other wedding venues for a number of reasons.
“I think we stand out because we’re a place where you can have an elegant wedding and still have fun,” she said. “We have a resort, and obviously we have a casino here, a nightclub, and the our pool area, Valley Beach, turns into a nightclub during the summer. So there’s a lot for the couple to do. They can get married here and their ceremony can be held here. We have five ballrooms on the property, three main ballrooms; one of them can hold up to 450, two smaller ones will hold 120 people each. The reception and after party can be here, and all their guests can stay here. From their rehearsal dinner to brunch the day after the wedding, they can get everything under one roof here.”
