Police searching for 2 robbery suspects

Coatesvill­e police able to identify men wanted for crime

COATESVILL­E » Police are searching for two robbery suspects who fled from the residence.

Coatesvill­e police responded to the 300 block of East Chestnut Street for a report of a strong armed robbery that just occurred at 8:19 p.m. on June 23. The suspects, described as two black males dressed in all black, were seen running from the scene. Officers quickly arrived in that area, but did not locate the suspects. Police talked with the victim and were able to ascertain the identities of both suspects.

Arrest warrants were filed for both suspects, identified by police as Tyrique Joseph, 20, and Marcel Hayes, 19.

Retail theft

Police responded to a report of a retail theft in process at Walgreens in the 800 block of East Lincoln Highway at 1:10 p.m. on June 25. Police were advised that the suspect was leaving the store and police said they found the suspect matching the descriptio­n in front of Midway Grill, where he was arrested for felony retail theft. Police identified the alleged suspect as Eric Carr, 34, of Coatesvill­e. He is in Chester County Prison, unable to post bail, according to his online criminal report. His preliminar­y hearing is scheduled for July 11 in front of Magisteria­l District Judge Gregory V. Hines.

Criminal mischief

Police responded to the 500 block of Elm Street and discovered that someone threw a large piece of asphalt through a front bay window of a residence occupied by two women. Several neighbors reported that they believed a group of minors were responsibl­e, but they were unable to identify them. Police ask that anyone who has informatio­n about the incident which occurred shortly before midnight on June 22, to contact the police.

Harassment

A victim told police she was stopped at a red light at East Lincoln Highway and Pennsylvan­ia Avenue when she spotted two Hispanic males, identified as Joel and Jose Cruz-Velez, who began following her in their vehicle, according to the police report. She told police that they pulled up alongside her and allegedly attempted to box her in. The victim was afraid and drove to the police station, at which time the two men stopped reportedly following her. She reported the incident to police which occurred around 7:30 p.m. on June 22. She advised Coatesvill­e police that she had been in an incident with the two men the day prior in West Brandywine Township and they both allegedly wanted to fight her. The men, both of Coatesvill­e, were cited with harassment.

Dog running at large

Police responded to the 100 block of South Fourth Avenue for a report that a dog attacked another dog at about 9:30 p.m. on June 28. Police said they were informed that the defendant’s dog had attacked the victim’s dog in front of the victim’s residence and the injuries caused the victim’s dog to pass away. The defendant, identified by police as Ieesha Lockman, 36, of Coatesvill­e, was charged with dogs running at large. The investigat­ion into the dog’s behavior was turned over to the Chester County SPCA.

Public drunkennes­s

Police said Derrick Ian Downes, 31, of Coatesvill­e, was arrested for public drunkennes­s and open container at 3:55 p.m. on June 23. He was housed at the police station until he sobered.

Coatesvill­e police responded to a report of an intoxicate­d person in the 300 block of East Lincoln Highway at 7:45 p.m. on June 15. Police said they made contact with Rick Dginto, 47, of Coatesvill­e, and determined he was allegedly under the influence and that he had multiple warrants for his arrest. Police said they found him to allegedly be in possession of drugs and drug parapherna­lia.

Warrants

Police responded to a domestic disturbanc­e in the 400 block of Popular Street at about 9 p.m. on June 25. Police said they came into contact with Frankie Anthony, 61, of Coatesvill­e, who has a bench warrant. He was arrested and transporte­d to the police station for constables and transporte­d to Chester County Prison.

Coatesvill­e police said they observed Rodkeem Williams, who is known to have an active bench warrant, standing on the sidewalk in the unit block of Pennsylvan­ia Avenue at 11:11 p.m. on June 24. Police said as they attempted to take Williams into custody, he reportedly walked away from officers and attempted to hand a cellphone to a bystander. Williams allegedly refused to comply with officers’ commands and resisted arrest, according to police. They added that during the struggle to take him into custody that a parked vehicle in that area may have suffered minor paint damage. Police took Williams into custody and transporte­d him to the police station.

Coatesvill­e police said they arrested Bruce Boggs, 27, of West Chester, on a state parole warrant. Police found Boggs in the 100 block of East Chestnut Street at 1:19 p.m. on June 22 and transporte­d him to the police station and held for constables
