NORRISTOWN » An East Norriton woman is on her way to state prison for stabbing her onetime paramour multiple times, including in the neck, after an argument between the two “Blew up.”

Kodie Lynn Weaver, 31, of the 600 block of Donna Drive, was sentenced in Montgomery County Court to 20- to-40-months in the State Correctional Institution at Muncy after she pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated and simple assault, possessing an instrument of crime and recklessly endangering another person in connection with the November 2016 domestic-related disturbance at the Donna Drive home.

Judge Todd D. Eisenberg also ordered Weaver to complete five years’ probation following parole, meaning she will be under court supervision for about eight years. The judge also ordered Weaver to have no contact with the victim. Weaver also must undergo a mental health evaluation.

An investigation began about 8 p.m. Nov. 22, 2016, when Weaver contacted 911 emergency dispatchers to report she was involved in an altercation with her fiancé who she stabbed in the neck, according to the criminal complaint filed by East Norriton Police Sgt. Matthew Brannen. When police arrived at the home they found Weaver seated on the walkway outside, “fresh blood visible on both of her hands as well as her left forearm,” according to the arrest affidavit.

When police entered the home they observed blood on a wall and on the kitchen floor. Police found the victim in the bathroom, his chest “covered in blood and he was holding a paper towel to the left side of his neck,” court documents alleged.

Police observed a deep laceration, about three inches in length, on the man’s neck and observed puncture wounds to his left bicep and chest.

The man told police that he and Weaver argued in the kitchen and that Weaver grabbed a paring knife and stabbed him several times. Plymouth Ambulance personnel arrived at the residence and began treating the man’s injuries, police said.

Weaver agreed to give police a statement.

“In Weaver’s statement she admits to arguing with (the victim) for the past five days and today it ‘Blew up,’” Brannen wrote in the arrest affidavit. “Weaver stated she grabbed a small knife with a little blade and brown handle from the sink and began swinging it at (the victim). Weaver stated she didn’t know where the knife hit (the victim) however she saw a lot of blood. Weaver stated she continued swinging the knife and she saw a lot of blood on the kitchen floor.”

Weaver told police that after the incident in the kitchen she went outside to smoke while the victim tended to his injuries in the bathroom. When Weaver went back inside the residence the argument continued, court documents indicate.

“Weaver stated she tried to go to the sink to clean her bloody hands and at some point she began swinging the knife at (the victim) again. Weaver stated she knew she cut him the first time, but the second time believes she hit his collarbone because the knife’s metal blade bent,” Bannen alleged.

Detectives found a sixinch paring knife with blood on it in the kitchen sink. Additionally, the tip of the knife was bent slightly, detectives alleged.
