WEST CHESTER » State Sen. Andy Dinniman, D-19, was recently honored by the Pennsylvania Association for College Admission Counseling (PACAC) with the 2018 Partners in Education Award.

The organization presented Dinniman with the award in recognition of his “contribution to and support of post-secondary education” at its 55th annual conference at Kalahari Resort and Convention Center.

Dinniman, who serves as Minority Chair of the Senate Education Committee, said he was honored to receive the recognition and would continue to work in the Legislature to advance policies to help ensure that opportunities for post-secondary education were accessible and available to all students.

“I want to thank Pennsylvania’s college admissions counselors for this recognition. They’ll be the first to tell you that our high school students and young people are more than the sum of their standardized test scores – they’re multi-dimensional, diverse and unique individuals with real aspirations, skills and talents that will contribute greatly to the future of our commonwealth and our nation,” Dinniman said.

PACAC is a nonprofit association comprised of more than 1,000 school counselors, college admission counselors, independent education consultants and other professionals responsible for guiding students through the important transition from high school to postgraduation options. It is one of 23 affiliates of the National Association for College Admission Counseling.
