Adult falls out of childsized train at Malvern Fire Company Fair

MALVERN » An adult riding in a child-sized, ground-mounted amusement train tipped out of the ride at the Malvern Fire Company Fair Tuesday evening about 8 p.m. according to borough police. The person complained of distress and anxiety and was evaluated by medics on the scene. The Malvern Police Department is investigat­ing with the ride operator.

The fair runs through Saturday evening at the Monument Memo-

rial Grounds. Rides are operated by Houghton Enterprise­s of Cochranvil­le. A call to Houghton was not returned.

A post about the incident on the Living in East Whiteland Facebook page drew this response; “Always a parent’s concern at these mobile carnivals.”

Every amusement ride or attraction, fixed or traveling, that operates in Pennsylvan­ia must be registered with the Pennsylvan­ia Department of Agricultur­e and inspected by a qualified inspector before it opens. The Malvern Fair was on a list of attraction­s by the Department of Agricultur­e.
