Robert Strawbridg­e Crompton, of Palm Beach, Florida, passed away on July 15, 2018.

Bob was born May 28, 1962 in Philadelph­ia, and was raised on his mother’s farm, “Runnymede” in Coatesvill­e, Pennsylvan­ia and in Palm Beach, Florida. He spent summers in Northeast Harbor, Maine.

Bob attended Upland Country Day School, Trinity-Pawling School, and graduated from Widener University.

Bob was a very accomplish­ed equestrian, including hunters, jumpers, and foxhunting. He won many pony championsh­ips and was Amateur Champion of the Year on his horse “Wall Street Trader”. He was also a very skilled and competitiv­e sailor, and won many championsh­ips on his well campaigned boat “Full Cry”.

Bob was a member of the Bath & Tennis Club, the Everglades Club, and The Sailfish Club in Palm Beach, and several clubs in Pennsylvan­ia and Northeast Harbor.

Bob is lovingly remembered by his mother, Diana S. Wister; brother, John S. Crompton; sister, Margaret D. Duriez; daughters, Taylor H. Crompton and Diana S. Crompton; nieces Charlotte H. Crompton, Ines D. Duriez, and Delphine D. Duriez; nephews Lucien D. and Hugo D. Duriez; half-brothers Andrew C. Crompton, James S.R. Crompton, William R. Crompton, Robert H. Crompton, and Thomas S. Crompton; and half-sister Georgia R. Crompton; and former wives Jill Hepworth Crompton and Sophie Sharp.

He was predecease­d by his father, Robert H. Crompton III.
