Police seek burglar who breaks into homes to steal undergarme­nts

WEST CHESTER » West Chester police are looking for the person who has been breaking into homes and stealing female undergarme­nts.

On Sunday, July 29, police responded to the 500 Block of South Matlack Street and the 100 Block of East Nields Street for reported burglaries.

On July 29, sometime between 3:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m., the suspect forced entry into the South Matlack Street residence via the second-floor rear bedroom. Once inside, the suspect removed female undergarme­nts from the bedrooms and threw clothing about the bedroom.

Police said the suspect likely cut himself or herself forcing their way into the residence.

West Chester police also discovered that a similar incident took place just a block away on East Nields Street. Sometime on Friday July 27, between 2 p.m. and Saturday, July 28, at 11 p.m., someone entered the home and threw clothes about the bedroom, broke picture frames, sprayed hand lotion on clothes and poured hand lotion and oil on a bed and photograph­s from the picture frames.

West Chester police are asking the citizens of West Chester to contact the police should they see any suspicious activity or persons. Anyone with informatio­n relating to these investigat­ions is urged to contact West Chester Police. Police reports from across the region:

DUI » Elizabeth A. Field, 37, of Landenberg was arrested and charged with DUI and a related traffic offense, after the 2005 Honda she was driving was stopped for failing to maintain its lane of travel. The incident occurred on July 8 at 2:15 a.m., on Route 1, in the area of Newark Road, in New Garden Township. Upon making contact with Field, police observed indicators suggesting intoxicati­on and field sobriety tests confirmed impairment. She was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and submitted to a chemical test of her breath, resulting in a B.A.C. of .138 percent. DRUG CHARGES » Fredrick C. Justison, 36, of Wilmington, Del. was arrested and charged with violations of the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device, and Cosmetic Act, and a traffic offense, after the 2010 Toyota he was driving was stopped for an equipment violation. The incident occurred on July 9 at 12:09 a.m., in the 300 block of Newark Road, in New Garden Township. Upon making contact with Justison, police detected the strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle and Justison admitted to possessing marijuana and parapherna­lia. DRUG CHARGES » Colleen S. Romasky, 34, of Landenberg was arrested and charged with violations of the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device, and Cosmetic Act (Act 64), as well as with a traffic offense, after the 2002 Honda she was driving was stopped for having an expired registrati­on. The incident occurred on July 9 at 7:57 p.m. in the 900 block of West Cypress Street, in New Garden Township. Upon making contact with Romasky, police detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle and Romasky admitted to having contraband in the center console. DUI » Baltazar Lopez-Almanza, 27, of West Grove was arrested and charged with DUI and related traffic offenses, after the 2005 Chevrolet he was driving was stopped for traveling at a high rate of speed and for failing to slow for a pedestrian that was attempting to cross the roadway. The incident occurred on July 9 at 10:38 p.m., in the 200 block of West Evergreen Street, in West Grove Borough. Upon making contact with Lopez-Almanza, police observed indicators suggesting intoxicati­on and field sobriety tests confirmed impairment.

Coatesvill­e

ASSAULT » Coatesvill­e Police investigat­ed an assault in the Unit block of West Fifth Avenue on Aug. 3 at 6:10 p.m. During the investigat­ion Victoria James, 52, of West Fifth Avenue, was identified as the suspect. James assaulted two

victims causing injury to their head and chest area. James admitted to the assault. This assault was over child custody issues and the child being dropped off to the residence with a dirty shirt. James was charged with simple assault and harassment.

WARRANT ARREST » Coatesvill­e police investigat­ed a disturbanc­e in the unit block of South Third Avenue on Aug. 3 at 9:56 p.m. During the investigat­ion officers spoke with a male later identified as Marquise Winkey, 30, of Brooks Street in Coatesvill­e. Winkey was wanted by State Parole for a violation of parole with the original charge of robbery. Winkey was taken into custody and transporte­d to station for transport back to Philadelph­ia. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF » On July 31, at 1:07 p.m., Chester County Police Radio dispatched officers to the 400 block Maple Ave (rear parking area) for a criminal mischief report. Contact was made with victim, Trashaya Hogue, 21, of Maple Avenue, Coatesvill­e. Hogue told officers someone damaged her 2017 Volkswagen Jetta by placing sand inside her gas tank.
